Participants take a guided tour through the exclusive Behind the Emerald Curtain Museum, which includes an elaborate set model by Tony Award-winner Eugene Lee and an up-close look at some of Tony Award-winner Susan Hilferty's costumes (with beautiful details that are not always visible from the audience), as well as actual props and wigs from the show.

Behind The Emerald Curtain also highlights the work of the 125 people it takes to make every performance of Wicked happen. Each event concludes with a Q+A session with cast members, where you will have the opportunity to find out more about Wicked specifically and show business in general. Participants also have a chance to purchase exclusive merchandise only available at Behind The Emerald Curtain.

ANTHONY GALDE (Co-Creator) has been a cast member of the Broadway production of Wicked since 2004. His other Broadway credits include the original casts of Starlight Express, The Prince of Central Park, King David, Civil War and the Lincoln Center’s South Pacific. Anthony’s regional directing credits include Romeo and Juliet, Annie, Sweet Charity, The Wizard of Oz, The Who’s Tommy and associate director and choreographer for the national arena tour of Radio City’s Pokemon Live. In addition, Mr. Galde has produced numerous benefits supporting everything from Broadway Cares and Quilts for Kids, to America’s Second Harvest and a star studded Katrina benefit at the Gershwin Theater in New York City. His philanthropic efforts have helped raise over 3 million dollars for these and other charitable organizations.

SEAN MCCOURT (Co-Creator) is an original Broadway cast member of Wicked. He has also appeared on Broadway in Titanic and It Ain’t Nothin’ But the Blues. Sean is currently appearing on Broadway in Disney’s Mary Poppins. He produced a regular concert series called Sean McCourt’s Big Top featuring Broadway performers and songwriters at Wilson’s, in Manhattan. He wrote the score for the independent film Let it Snow starring Bernadette Peters. His original musicals have been produced at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, The Ordway in Minneapolis, and Off-Broadway. SUSAN SAMPLINER (Co-Creator) Susan Sampliner has been the Company Manager of the Broadway company of Wicked since its first rehearsal. She has company managed many Broadway and off-Broadway shows - highlights have included A Chorus Line, Contact, The Graduate and Lily Tomlin's The Search For Signs. She is a graduate of Brown University, and has a Certificate in Arts Management from SUNY Purchase. She is a member of ATPAM, and has guest lectured at NYU and Brown.
CHRIS JAMROS (Graphic Designer) has been with Behind the Emerald Curtain since its inception. J MEDIA DESIGNS, the design firm created and headed by Jamros, provides print and motion design for not only Emerald Curtain, but also Keen Company in New York City, Dorset Theatre Festival in Vermont, as well as various other companies and individuals around New York. One of the original stage managers on Wicked, Chris spent five years with the show, eventually rising to the position of Production Stage Manager. He holds a Master’s degree in Digital Imaging and Design from NYU. |
